Prints

As students of classic photography know, there is an art to making a print from a raw image. In addition to straightforward retouching, the expert printer will dodge, burn, filter, and make numerous other adjustments to make the best image possible. This was true of film capture and darkrooms, but it is even more true today with digital capture and Photoshop. There are as many ways to create a B&W image from a digital image as there were types of film, developers, toners and papers.

Most of our prints are produced on traditional photographic paper. In some circumstances, we will make prints on a seven-color pigmented-ink large-format Epson printer. Prints are usually provided in photo folders. We can have prints "drop-shipped" directly to a customer from our lab in order to expedite delivery.

We guarantee initial satisfaction with our prints, but we can make no promises about their resistance to fading and color changes over time.

Albums

Albums can represent a much more complete depiction of individuals, couples or families. There are many interesting choices for albums, but all include a custom design, expert retouching, and our special touches that make every photo special.

(Figures in parenthesis are recommended images per page, on average. Our designs often include panoramas (one photo across two pages) and pages with four or more images, while adhering to the recommended average.)

Notes: The price for an "additional" copy applies when its page designs already exist. There are many in-between situations where some redesign is desired - please contact us for a quote. Prices for bound leather albums include cover imprinting and upgraded leather.

Folios

There are many choices, but we have two standard offerings: One is a traditional "tri-fold" folio that includes a central 8x10 and four 4x5 prints. The 8x10 can be vertical or horizontal; the 4x5s must be all horizontal, all vertical, or two of each (that is, you can't have 3 one way and 1 another way).

The second type of folio includes three 8x10s or three 5x7s in an elegant brocaded linen cover with a ribbon tie. The prints can be all vertical or all horizontal, and are permanently bonded to the folio.

Framed prints

Let us spare you the trouble of framing! We offer two approaches - one that is easy and economical, one that offers a very wide choice of the highest quality frames and mats.

Fast and Simple: We provide you with prints that are mounted and framed (without glass), either at the same size as the print (that is, with no mat) , or with a simulated mat formed on the next size larger print - for example, we'll position an 8x10 image with a border on an 11x14 print, mounted and framed. These can be shipped to you directly, very quickly.

High Quality and Choice: Here, you choose a frame and mat among an extremely wide array of styles and colors from our supplier, Gross National Products, on their website (view additional frames by making choices from the Moldings menu). You tell us what you select (we're happy to help) and we take care of the rest. These are the highest quality frames available. Your cost will be based on our print price list, our own cost for the frame, a fixed mounting fee, plus shipping.

Example: for an 11x14 print your price is $37 for the print, plus our cost for the frame ($85, say) and a mounting fee of $48 - $170 altogether.
Signature Print: A framed signature print has a wide mat for guests to sign their names. We'd order a frame for an 11x14 but with a mat for an 8x10, or a frame for a 16x20 but with a mat for an 11x14.
